Renaissance Fiber is a clean-tech fiber manufacturer. We operate the only hemp fiber supply chain in the United States using a proprietary hemp degumming process that is exceptionally low cost, Ecologically Invisible™, and sequesters carbon at geologic time scales, creating a net-positive impact on the planet to pass on to our partners and consumers.

We purchase raw, domestic hemp fiber and process it into forms suitable for textile production. We have relationships with farmers, mechanical processors, yarn spinners and textile companies that produce brand-name garments and products. Our proprietary methods are clean, inexpensive, accessible, scalable, and developed to be ecologically and environmentally invisible. They use the unique geographic and climatic advantages of the US Southeast to produce high-quality, soft, spinnable fiber with small, efficient facilities. No bleaching or oxidation is needed, essentially doing away with the inherent production of potentially toxic by-products. With this proprietary technology, we hope to help our state & region maintain leadership in global agriculture and textile production.

For Buyers of Hemp-Based Textiles

Renaissance Fiber is a North Carolina clean-tech and ag-tech company that manufactures softened hemp fiber for the textile industry using an Ecologically Invisible degumming process. We produce American grown, American processed hemp fiber as the Renaissance Fiber solution for a sustainable textile industry. We are focused on building a hemp textiles supply chain within the United States.

Buyers of hemp fiber can purchase our affordable, high quality domestic hemp fiber directly from us by reaching out on our Contact Us page. We maintain a Farm-to-Fiber Track & Trace database to facilitate traceability for our customers. We now also are brokering some coarse-count yarn (Ne 4/1 to 10/1) produced by our initial yarn spinner partner, currently as hemp-cotton (upland or pima) blends. Ask about these yarns. Fabric has already been made from this yarn by our initial network of weavers.

For Industrial Hemp Processors

We offer fair prices for raw decorticated and cleaned hemp fiber (see our specs and grading scale below). Lightly retted fiber with no mold may be acceptable on a case by case basis. Hemp is accessible to most farmers with grain crop experience, but requires coordination to ensure high quality production and maximum value. Specific machines are required for decortication. We will work with you to help locate specialized equipment. We prefer to buy fiber from Southeastern states closer to our operations (NC, SC, VA, KY and TN) and are happy to discuss options.

For Hemp Growers and Farmers

For first time growers, we recommend growing a small test plot of ½ acre or 1 acre to get a season under your belt. Please contact your local agricultural extension office for details on hemp cultivation in your area.
